So a few weeks back, one of my clients contacted me with concerns about their page. I guess someone pointed out that the page doesn’t meet w3c standards. Had to be another designer because I don’t expect the average person to know what w3c standards are. So I got a bit defensive in the email and reassured the client that everything is fine. Reason why I got defensive? Because it’s a myspace page. You DO NOT have complete page control. Even a blank myspace page will not be standardized to w3c. First off, there isn’t even a DOCTYPE set in a brand new page and I’m not even going to get into the other reasons why a myspace page WILL NOT MEET W3C STANDARDS. You can run check from validator.w3c.org on a myspace url if you disagree. A normal user/band profile WILL NOT validate. And to be honest, as great as it is to have a standardized page, it’s not mandatory - try validating some of the big sites out there like google.com (click here to validate - it will fail).
Seriously, if you’re trying to sabotage my work. Find something more plausible like “He hires indian freelancers to do his photoshop work” or something. I think first time I touched photoshop was when it was at version 4.0 and learned HTML before CSS even existed - Plus, did I mention I make sites for a living full time for a multi-million dollar company?
If it renders fine for me and a bunch of other people but crashes only your browser, guess what bucko? It’s not me, it’s you. Upgrade your software like uhm… Flash player? Or better yet, go check your event logs you retard.
Fuck the haters. And I know you’re reading this
