So I just got home and my brother asked me if I wanted to hit the gym. I said yes and then decided to weigh myself. Holy crap, I lost 5 lbs this past week. I think it had to do something with the fact that I gave up soda and started eating only greek salad with grilled chicken everyday during lunch at work for the past 4 business days. It’s either that or my body retains a shit load of water. But when I think back to my days in the military, I lost 5lbs every week but from exercise. Dare I combine the two? Muahhahahaha. OK hopefully I get back in shape for the summer. This is the part where I depart my blog and hit up some cardio!
Edit: I just got back from doing some cardio, some weights, and abs. Then, I hopped in the sauna for about 5 minutes. Weighed myself again, lost another 1 lb. HAHAHA. I am awesome.

So today, I took some time to analyze the metrics to my website. If you own a website, I think analyzing your metrics is a very important thing to do …unless you just don’t give a crap. It tells you what you’re doing right and what you’re doing wrong. What’s working and what’s not. It’s only been half of April and so far the stats are exceeding the prior month. I launched on March 7th, 2008. But this chart does prove the fact that content is king. Not only this is a place where I put my work, I also blog about my personal life. So may think that can be a bad business practice but it doesn’t bother me one bit. I’m human. I go through human things. I’m not perfect. My work speaks for itself. So that’s enough talking from me, here’s my stats… CLICK THE IMAGE! DUH!

P.S. Thanks for reading my blog

My brother linked to me a great blog article (Written by Andrew Galasetti) awhile back and i want to share it with all my blog readers.
How many times have you heard someone say, “Hindsight is always 20/20″? If you are like me, you hear it a lot and think it a lot more.
Although I have never heard that saying, I do wonder about my behavior sometimes. Well, here goes the list:
- You must create and look for opportunities: Opportunities rarely ever come knocking on the door of someone who’s not seeking them. You have to create and seek opportunities for yourself. You have to take the initiative to get the ball rolling and the doors opening.
- Negativity will only bring more of it: When you focus only on negativity, obviously that’s all you will see. You will not seek out positivity, and even when positivity comes into your life, you’ll look for the negative part of it.
- Where you are does not determine where you can go: It doesn’t matter if you’re homeless or living in a mansion, poor or rich, or if you have a 4.0 grade point average or “failing”, it won’t make any difference in the future. There are countless rags to riches stories to back this point up. If you have the drive and talents, you can go anywhere. You create your own limitations and horizon.
- If you can’t help others, you can’t help yourself: Even if it’s just to hold the door for someone or some other simple gesture, it will do wonders for your life. You’ll feel great and you’ll eventually be returned the favor sometime during your life, whether you realize it or not. If you don’t want to help others, then others won’t want to help you, and nor should they.
- Follow your passion, money will follow: If you have passion and have fun doing your job, then I wouldn’t consider it a job. You can focus on creating even more passion for that subject and money will eventually follow you. If you focus only on the money, it won’t come because you’re focused on the quantity of your work and not the quality.
- Enjoy yourself: Have fun as much as possible, don’t take everything so seriously. Push your worries aside and bring enjoyment closer.
- If it were easy everyone would do it: This is why get rich quick schemes will never be true. If it was so quick and easy then everyone would be millionaires. Making money and accomplishing tasks is hard work, but well worth it.
- Planning is good but so is being spontaneous: Planning ahead in business and in life is important but so is being able to quickly change that plan. Various people and events will get in the way of your plans, so you have to be able to modify or forget your plans at times. Be spontaneous once and awhile, it makes life interesting.
- You have many talents: You may be a talented athlete or musician but you probably have ten more talents you don’t even know about. When people find something they’re good at, they only focus on that instead of seeing what else they can do.
- Don’t work hard without rewards: What’s the point of working hard to follow your dreams if you aren’t going to treat yourself along the way. Each little or big goal you accomplish should be rewarded with a proportionate treat, maybe a day off or a big slice of cake.
- Money does bring happiness: As I said, you shouldn’t be chasing money but when you do earn it, you know you’ve been accomplishing something. It feels great and brings you happiness because you know you’ll have more freedom and time to do what you want.
- Someone always has it worse: At times you may be having a bad day, but stop yourself and think about it; there has to be millions of other people are having a worse day than you.
- You’ll need others: Make as many friends as you possibly can and never burn bridges. You will need others for your success.
- Being open-minded is the key to more knowledge: If you want to know more about the world you have to be open-minded. Give everything a chance.
- Failure is great: One of the most important, if not the most important steps to success is failure. You have to fail at least once, but it’s better if you’ve failed multiple times. You can learn so much more from your failures than you could any other way. And when you finally achieve success, you’ll appreciate it so much more.
- Most people are actually nice: This is something I’ve only recently realized. Most people are nice, but not usually to strangers. Once they get to know you and you get to know them, they will most likely seem like very nice people.
- Words and thoughts control everything: What you say and think will ultimately become reality. If you say you’re going to fail, then you will because you’ll find a way to make it happen. If you say you’re going to succeed, the same will happen, you’ll find a way.
- Your view is the reality: How you see an event or situation is how it exists. If you see something as tragic and negative then that’s what it means to you. If you see something as exciting and positive, then that’s what it is.
- Inspiration and motivation are everywhere: I don’t care where you are, there is something there that can motivate and inspire you. You can be at war is some far away country, in horrible conditions, but there will be something there to keep you going and strive for something better. You just have to recognize it and keep it with you.
- You can change the world: Every single person has the ability to change the world whether directly or indirectly. When you change your life and the lives of those around you, you’ve changed the world. Small things that you do can make a huge impact on the world.

Today I was woken up at 6:25AM by a knock at my door from my brother telling me it was 6:30AM and well… I slept the 5 minutes off. Took a shower, felt tired as hell, brushed my teeth, and all that other good stuff. Since I’ve been carpooling (with my brother) for awhile now… I have to wake up earlier now. I miss those days where I woke up an hour later. Prior to leaving for work, I forgot to bring my Lotemax eyedrops for my eye inflammation (from my contact lenses) so I headed back inside but I couldn’t find it so I won’t be applying any eyedrops till tonight. Plus getting out of shape doesn’t help either. I actually weighed myself last night and I actually told myself “Holy sh*t, You’re a fat ass!” So the obvious thing to tell myself is to hit the gym right? Well, not really. Due to some personal issues for the past few months (let’s call it an ankle injury for now), My out-of-shape-ness has been getting out of control. Once my personal issue is over with, I’m hitting the gym again. And did I mention that I have a really painful ingrown toe nail?! After my “ankle injury” - I think I’m going to see the doctor to have it fixed (yikes! I’m going to have only half a nail left). It’s been like this for awhile, I just been withstanding the pain. Jesus, I just realized how many things are wrong in my life in that last paragraph… Not to mention the stuff that I left out.
But work wise, it’s been rather OK i guess… Work load is finally starting to ease up a bit. Thank god the spring break season is over. I’m starting to feel burnt out. I can’t remember the last time I even had a real vacation… I been with this company for over a year now. Last year, I took 1 week of vacation time and it was not for vacation purposes. Plus the job before that (8 months), I only took 1 day off. I’m seriously in dire need of a vacation. I just finished this google maps page for my company. It’s funny how it came about… my boss gave me 30 minutes to research the functionality and I ended up learning the API in that short amount of time. But the result was very satisfactory and alot of the head honchos at the company liked it. I learn things fairly quickly when I apply myself. I guess it’s my gift and my curse. And yesterday I sent out a newsletter email to 594,000+ subscribers and traffic to the company website tripled plus sales were up 50% over last year. Ah, how sweet does that sound. I remember last year, we had like low 400k subscribers. I guess I am pretty good at what I do. My job also requires a lot of research, I have so many webpages opened that I tend to run out of memory (2GB @ 800mhz) fairly quickly. Let’s see I have IE7 with 15 tabs opened and Firefox with 97 tabs opened. Not including all the other apps I have to use. Can we say MULTITASKER? Oh another thing, I sort of closed my myspace page last night. I’m not going into details so “no comment.”
I had about 3 meetings today. I found out that our information systems guy is leaving the company so we’re trying to make sure we’re ready for any kind of impact. So it’s been quite the busy day. And one of our CTO’s (Chief Technical Officer) had me help him write up (or update rather) some document on logging website metrics. It was very last minute and he wanted it done very quickly. I did it in 10 minutes. Not too shabby. Plus he gave me props in the email to everyone. Finally, recognition. But overall, it was a semi-exhausting day. Then I came home to watch the Celtics beat the Suns by a huge margin. Let’s bring home a NBA championship!
I’m going to get ready for bed, goodnight and godspeed. (whatever that means)

Cubicle rather. This is where I work. If I’m not home, I’m there. It took me 26 years to actually find something I like doing. I’ve been here for over a year now. People are nice. And my accomplishments are recognized. I’m sort of a big deal (LOL). Sometimes it gets stressful to the point where I want to leave, but I just end up treating it like a balancing act. Good vs. Bad.
Prior to this job, I use to work as an infosec admin at a financial establishment (we’ll call it Some Stupid Company for privacy purposes) under a micromanaging psychopathic boss (we can call her Dumb Cunt for privacy purposes) who has no clue about info security and enjoyed bossing people around. I actually had a confrontation with her once and told her how I felt about her but nothing changed. I don’t understand how those people can even work the positions that they hold. So I ended up leaving. After that, I realized that I will never work in a corporate environment ever again.
All I leave you with is the following:
1. Understand self worth
2. Balance everything (Thanks Laneezy)
3. If all else fails, pick up a box of newports
P.S. They finally decided to upgrade my PC at work, I’m running a Quad-Core setup at work now. Hehe.
